I shot the Texas Tactical IDPA match on October 15, 2011 at the Cedar Ridge Range in San Antonio. You’ll hear coverage of the match from the range and an interview with a shooter on my squad who shot his XD9 for the first time. You’ll also hear stage descriptions and the results of a few stages. I finished 8th out of 27 shooters in the SSP division. I’ll take that, since I didn’t shoot a match in almost 6 weeks previous to this match. I was in “gamer” mode and shot my Glock 34, Comp-Tac OWB. belt holster and concealed with an IDPA vest. You’ll experience the match in audio format from the range. Links and discussion can be found on the Gun Rights Radio Network Forum. Sounds like you were on my squad while you were recording. Did you ever consider that you might have given us the common courtesy of letting us know you were recording us? To not do so is wrong.
My apologies. Some on the squad new I was recording. My fault for not notifying everyone.
Bob,
I’m a new listener and have been enjoying the past couple of shows while commuting to and from work. Keeping track of which episode I’m listening to is tough. My commute is relatively short and it takes me a couple of days to get through an entire episode. Throughout the course of a week I tend to loose track of which episode is currently playing.
At any rate, I enjoyed this particular episode a great deal. I’m relatively new to the shooting sports and opted to go the USPSA route rather than IDPA. The reason being, there are more clubs closer to home that run USPSA instead of IDPA.
Even though I really enjoy USPSA, I love the stage designs in IDPA. I’ve seen some cool stuff, like being prone with a dummy laid on you to simulate a mass shooting scenario, some sort of swinging contraption to simulate a parachute drop, and the list goes on and on.
Here in PA many of the local clubs stop having matches this time of year and get back into the swing of things in the spring. Your show piqued my interest even more. I think that next season I’m going to try and mix some IDPA matches in with the USPSA matches I plan to shoot.
Again, I enjoyed the episode. Keep up the good work.
