Hey Bob, God has blessed you and family. I could use prayers for my wife Bobbie’s recovery from back surgery.
I just listened to this latest podcast and wholeheartedly agree on the triple round capability on a single platform. I however, started with my used Sig Sauer P250 in 40 S/W. I bought a second used Sig Sauer P250 in 40 S/W with a 357 Sig additional barrel. Then I bought a 9mm xchange kit giving me 2 Sig Sauer P250’s and the capability of changing to 40 S/W, 357 Sig or 9mm in either. I of course bought the appropriate magazines.
Then I took a different path with Glocks. I started with a used G23 Gen 3 and bought Lone Wolf 357 Sig and 9mm threaded conversion barrels, buying the approptiate magazines again. Now I have multiple possibilities with 3 pistols. If you start with a G19 you cannot just add additional barrels as you noted in the podcast.
I too am a great fan of the 357 Sig round. My carry pistol is the Glock 23 with 357 Sig barrel. I’ll keep the P250 and G23 in either 40 S/W or 357 Sig to conserve 9mm if need be.
I also have an Argentine Hi-Power and a Star B Super both in 9×19, S/W Model 19 4″ and 66 in 4″ and 6″. I have the ability and supplies to reload each if we get to SHTF situation.
I’ve been following you for 5 years and am a Shooters Club Member. You and Ben give such good information. I look forward weekly to both yours and Ben’s podcasts. I’d like to head up to your session in Washington but that would depend on my wife’s recovery.
Keep up the good fight.
Yours in Christ Jamie
Thank you Jamie, how to you like the SIG P250? I’ve heard good things, but haven’t had a chance to shoot one yet. I think I’ll get the G32 upper next week and start finding .357 SIG ammo. Thanks for being a Shooters Club Member and for all of these years of following my podcast. I’ll keep up the good fight as long as God lets me.
In Christ,
Bob Mayne
Great show Bob. One clarification though. It is in regards to Campus Carry. When you talked about University presidents creating gun free zones, you should know they cannot do so unilaterally. The law states that after receiving input from faculty, and staff, the President or Officer must submit his/her recommendations to the schools governing board, or board of regents. It must pass a two thirds vote. The board then sends the recommendations to a Texas legislative committee of the house and Senate, for review. The legislative committee can accept or reject any part , or all recommendations.
