Sometimes I have a couple of pieces of gun related material that I can’t make a complete podcast episode out of, but I want to put it out there. This is one of those times. So this isn’t a real episode, but rather a bonus podcast. Don’t expect this every week though, OK? It starts with a lunchtime discusion with a couple shooting buddies, then turns into a response to a listener email and a book that was sent to me. Primarily, it’s about how gun owners tend to let emotions rule their decision making when buying or evaluating a gun. Warning! This is NOT politically correct. Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Podcast, Gun Rights Radio Network.
I think maybe you should rethink your position because WHO we support with our money DOES matter, even within our loved gun industry.
“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing”
It is similar to Tom’s Greshams Truth Squad of “A lie left unchallenged becomes the truth.”
This is not a major Good vs. Evil issue, but to say that it should have no impact to our decision when selecting a firearm is not far from the complacency that has got this country into our current degraded state. Not that I think we should boycott Glock, Kahr, Ruger, or S&W because of things they have done in the PAST as a company or issues of the people behind the companies. But if any gun companies are in violation of our core principles our money should not support them, period. There are many good firearms to choose from so if Company A does violate our core principles, there is a Company B, C, & D with the very similar hardware features to choose from.
The older I get WHO I support with my money has become a more active decision. We don’t support companies who post “No Gun” signs, we try to support the neutral or better yet good guys who post “Gun Owner Welcome” signs. Even within our gun industry there are good, better, and best choices based on our personal values. I contend that we take the better or best choice when all hardware features are nearly equal.
Many guns can save our lives. No, I don’t hate you.
Thanks for all your efforts producing great podcasts.
