Hey Bob I enjoy your show and just wanted to let you know I’m still listening after your story last episode.
I too felt you sounded a little reckless with that “shoot first and ask questions later” attitude but very quickly understood you were in a unknown situation and were merely sharing your thought process with us of when you were weighing your options. I too am a regular guy and instructor and congratulate you for keeping such a cool head under stress!
Also: I live in Minnesota where we have always had permitted open and concealed carry. I don’t believe a permit should be required either. But under this system when you see some one open carrying, there is no premise that he is doing so lawfully unless you ask to see a permit to carry. I’ve been stopped a couple times and have shown my permit every time. The exchange takes a few seconds and police around me are polite about it. Generally it only happens when some scared little old lady calls the cops when she sees my gun.
But I am a professionally dressed, friendly, and kind young man so the public generally appreciates me having a gun.
Thanks again for all your podcasting and please don’t be saddened by one person failing to understand your tactical mind. We can’t sugar coat everything. 😉
P.s. Feel free to mention me on the air, I’d sure feel special!
Thank you Gunslingin Clayton. You’re right I can’t sugarcoat anything and that actually does listeners a disservice if I do that. Thanks for your open carry feedback, I’ll probably get asked for my license, as I might try open carrying a little bit. Bob Mayne
