At the GRPC last September, I listened to Doug Ritter of Kniferights.org talk about knives being the second front of the assault on the 2nd amendment. I was reminded of that when I recorded this interview with 3 custom knife makers. Don’t forget the importance of a good knife as a defensive tool and even though this is the HandGUNworld Podcast, once in awhile I think it’s important to do a show on something other than guns, that you can use to defend yourself with. So I interviewed Wade Colter, Shane Taylor and Erik Fritz. Wade and Shane are Master Bladesmiths, and Erik is a Journeyman Bladesmith. This interview was done at the American Bladesmith Society’s seminar and trade show in San Antonio. I think you’ll enjoy it. Links can be found on the Gun Rights Radio Network Forum. In regards to the end of your show. With the young man who asked about carrying on a college campus.
I live in Indiana and there is no State LAW that prevents me from carrying on a college campus. Most colleges have RULES that prevent carrying. Since the college has no authority over him (he isn’t a student they can expel), I would carry in this situation.
If there are State laws that prevent this type of carry, then my suggestion isn’t valid.
I do think a very important topic for an episode might be LAWS vs RULES. A sign outside a store that says no fire arms doesn’t mean you cannot carry there. In Indiana if it is discovered that you are carrying, they can ASK you to leave. If you refuse, you can then be arrested for trespassing. There will be no gun related charge. If you just leave, you have broken no LAW.
