Recent events lately have stirred up a lot of conversation about mass shootings. Thanks to a listener on Facebook, I’ve decided to change my terminology and call them active killers instead of active shooters. So Jack Rumbaugh is my guest to talk about recent events, how to prepare yourself for the unfortunate situation if you’re in an active killer situation. You and I are shooters, the people who commit these heinous acts are killers, plain and simple. Thanks for downloading and listening, Bob Mayne
Interesting topic! Too bad the connection with Jack Rumbaugh was dismal. Another gripe is that it seems with every show, it’s becoming more and more like a one-hour infomercial for Bon’s classes. It’s subtle but if I can offer a humble suggestion: Maybe Bob could create a snazzy 20 or 30 second commercial for his classes, put them on the front end of the podcast and then start the show with the show topic. I think by now, if you’ve listened to even half a podcast, you’ll get that Bob is a fan of training. No need to advertise throughout the show. Just a thought…
Thank you for your comment. I might actually do that, it might work better. Please keep in mind, I do not have sponsors for my show. No paid sponsors that insist that I run commercials. This is on purpose. So my show is completely supported by listeners. Everyone who interviews donates their time for FREE. In return, I think it’s fair to talk about their products or their training. Same goes for me. I do this podcast for free. After 192 episodes, I think people have gained a huge amount of knowledge that I’ve given out for FREE. Less than 10% of the content of each show is about upcoming classes or products being offered. I sincerely hope that you feel the other 90% gives you value. I think it’s a better alternative than other podcasts I’ve listened to, that run a commercial about every 20 minutes. As for the connection, I’ve found a new way to record that should clear up the skype connections from now on. I apologize for this one.
On this episode you spoke of a sight for those of us with “older eyes” for those longer shots. What was the name of them?
Thanks for all you do.
Mark
There are 2 types. 1. Speed Sights: they are simply the best iron sight system out there. Giving you 3 sight systems in one. Long distance, combat CQB and night sights. If you buy them, please get them through me, it helps support my show. Check out this page, http://www.handgunworld.com/speed-sights/
We also talked about putting a Trijicon RMR red dot optic on your pistol which is also terrific for older eyes, but a lot more expensive. http://www.onesourcetactical.com/trijicon-rmr-rm07-led-moa65-red-dot.aspx#.UE9bPGt5mSM
Your choice but I highly recommend the Speed Sights. Thanks for your question.
