Single stack, slim 9mm pistols that are pocketable seem to be the most popular self defense pistols on the market today. I own 2 very nice guns, the Kahr PM9 and the Shield 9mm. Both are superb. But Jon Payne and I have a difference of opinion as to which is best. So we analyze both of these little guns and also talk about open carry.

John Payne made a comment to the effect of, “If a LEO sees a person
open carrying, how’s he to know if the person has a CHL or not.” Why
should that be a question? If the person is not doing anything illegal
or otherwise suspicious, how is it any matter to the cop?
Does
a cop know that everyone they see driving a car has a valid driver’s
license? No, it only becomes an issue when some infraction occurs and
the cop has reason to check the drivers bonafides. It should be the same with guns.
We talked about this offline and Jon and I agree with you. We should have discussed this in the interview. Thanks for pointing it out.
