How many handguns do you need? You may think I’m foolish to try to answer this question, but I take a risk and try to answer it! In this podcast I talk determining how many you should buy and also talk about states that limit sales to one per month. I also differentiate between the specific uses of your handgun and how that might affect your decision. Good luck!
Highlights:
- The one gun per month sales restriction.
- Defensive handgun or survival handgun?
- Should spouses have the same caliber or same handgun?
- Do you need a specific training gun?
I live in Maryland. The ability to obtain a CC license is restricted to politicians, retired police officers and people who carry a lot of cash (and probably contribute to the politicians). Normal law abiding people are denied every time. The law states that people who have threats against them can also get one. I have not seen it yet. Visit
http://www.marylandshallissue.org/ for more info. Currently, the Maryland state government is busy trying to bring back the ‘assault weapon ban’ (which is just about everything semi-auto by their definition). The other law before the legislature is one that would require law abiding gun owners to be fingerprinted….Not good.
Bob,
That is a very good question that like you said, many have tried to answer over the years. Some say that you only need one firearm and some say as many as you can purchase in a period of time. Like the old adage goes…”Beware of the man with just one weapon, for he knows how to use it.”
In the past I’ve given serious thought to the idea of one gun a month and I believe it’s a good idea. However, as you know that once begin this hobby and discover the various manufacturers and some of the high end weapons, it’s difficult to purchase one of those per month.
I just believe that it is all up to the individual and their wants and needs.
