Love your show Bob. Red/green optics, on concealed carry firearms, is fine, however, in close quarters combat, which usual occurs at conversational distances, is where human conflict begins. This, in studies past, is a few feet to a few yards, which makes it near impossible to bring your gun up to a point and aquire the optic. You have previously mentioned John Correa, who analyzes gunfights on YouTube. Some of the videos, you see how close many gunfights start. Red dot optics, in these close gunfights are useless. To be fair, at longer distances, like inside a home, and in competition is where they operate best. They are outstanding on rifles. I know Mr. Suarez is a great trainer, but he has a vested interest in Red dots, as he teaches Red dot optic classes, for profit. Naturally he is all in, on Red dot optics on pistols. Go back, and review your close quarters podcasts, with Roger Phillips, and his point shooting, which is more realistic view. Sorry to be critical Bob, but I have always taken the most logical, practical, and realistic point of view, on what may work, in close quarters gunfights, for forty-five years, carrying everyday.
Very true Michael. I appreciate you pointing this out. In fact, you’ve given me something to talk about in my next upcoming episode 616.
