Eric Shelton from the Handgun Podcast joins me this week to discuss our podcasts, how they came about, why we do this and how we are similar, yet different in a few ways. We discuss ideas about concealed carry guns, holster, sights, lights on guns, revolvers, sights, trigger pulls and more. We agree on some things and differ on others but I have to let you know that Eric’s show has certainly been an inspiration to me and one of the influences that made me start this podcast. Eric and I also discuss why we like to carry a Glock 19 and how I started shooting 1911’s in IDPA. For those of you that don’t know, Eric’s show is also part of the Gun Rights Radio Network. Last Friday I was on his podcast, so you may want to listen to that first, because this is sort of a “Part 2” of that episode. Both interviews were recorded at the same time.
Thanks for listening,

Actually there is no maximum distance that targets can be placed in USPSA…the rulebook doesn’t address it (I can’t speak regarding IDPA). I’ve shot stages in USPSA with targets placed at 50 yards.
OK, thanks for the clarification Steve. Perhaps I read it wrong. I’m fairly certain 25 yards is the maximum in IDPA.
As to the viability of revolvers: I feel if you and Eric gave them more of a chance you might be surprised how well a broken in S&W K frame shoots. The only downside I see is capacity. A small frame Taurus or S&W steel revolver can be a good carry piece. It’s small size, especially the short grip makes it very easy to conceal and the heft of the steel frame makes it a pleasure to shoot. I also find the simplicity and easy to find controls make it almost instinctive to operate. I keep a semi-auto in the nightstand for capacity but prefer a steel snub for CCW.
I’ve been listening to Eric’s show for quite a while now and find both your show and his very informative. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, I’m warming up to revolvers a little more. I’m going to spend more time with one next week, more rounds, I think I’ll try a K Frame.
